An original Wine Painting workshop

They say wine has its own language, and on paper, it sounds especially beautiful. Wine painting is a unique trend in modern art in which a familiar beverage becomes artistic material, and the creative process becomes a true artistic journey.

During the masterclass, you will discover the Wine Art technique, which, in its principles, resembles watercolour painting: artists create elegant monochromatic compositions on special paper using brushes and red wine. Thanks to varying saturation and the multi-layered application of wine, which creates depth, chiaroscuro, and the image’s expressiveness, one can obtain a wide range of shades — from delicate pink to rich brownish-wine tones.

An experienced master will introduce you to the specifics of working with wine as an artistic medium, explain the techniques of applying it to paper, and share the basic principles of composition creation. All necessary materials for the work will be provided: watercolour paper, brushes, and prepared wine.

You will have the opportunity to choose a subject from the suggested references or realise your own creative idea. Floral compositions, still lifes, grape themes, landscapes, and sophisticated artistic images look particularly striking in this technique. Regardless of prior experience, every participant will have the chance to create an original artwork to add to their personal gallery after the masterclass concludes.

The workshop will take place in a cosy atmosphere of creativity and inspiration. Rosé wine and sweet treats will be a pleasant addition for the participants.

This event will be an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with an unusual artistic technique, spend time in pleasant company, and see for yourself that wine can inspire not only as a symbol of culture and traditions but also as a medium for creating true works of art.

The highlight of the event will be a photo session against the backdrop of a unique landscape centred around St. Sophia of Kyiv — one of the most important shrines of the capital. This is a unique opportunity to preserve the memory of the creative masterclass’s atmosphere in an exceptional location where art, inspiration, and the city’s historical heritage blend in one space.
