The Training Communication Strategy of Public Authorities 2.0 is ongoing

The GDIP Media Center is running a training course on Communication Strategy for State Authorities 2.0, which was put together by the Directorate-General for Rendering Services to Diplomatic Missions with support from the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the West Ukrainian National University.

As part of the new training week, participants familiarised themselves with the practical aspects of international communication in the context of cooperation with foreign delegations, partners, and the public.

On Wednesday, 14 May, Ivetta Delikatna, key communication expert of the Association4U project (2019–25), presented the topic Communication Strategy on the European Integration of Ukraine. The expert described the current state of European integration and the main parameters of communication strategies for this level of interaction, gave examples of campaigns and projects, and provided comprehensive information – the basis for building the main messages of each institution.

On Friday, 16 May, Ukrainian diplomat Liudmyla Nedilska, PhD in Political Science, delivered a lecture on Diplomatic and Business Protocol and Etiquette. She shared insights into the preparation of diplomatic events, demonstrated samples of official invitations and standard seating arrangements, and stressed the importance of paying attention to the smallest details when interacting with international partners.

On Monday, 19 May, Iryna Shum, a Ukrainian diplomat and Deputy Director of the Department General for Public Diplomacy and Communications of the MFA of Ukraine, presented a lecture. Ms Shum introduced Inter-city and Inter-regional Partnerships as Drivers of International Support and Reconstruction of Ukraine. She focused on the concept of city diplomacy as a foreign policy tool, spoke about the possibilities of attracting international support and cultural and economic resources, and shared examples of successful partnerships and recommendations for communities seeking to develop such ties.

The training Communication Strategy of Public Authorities 2.0 is a platform for vivid discussion, knowledge improvement and experience exchange.
