Opening of the Exhibition Warmness

We are delighted to invite you to the Opening of the Exhibition Warmness, born from the idea of giving children in difficult life circumstances a sense of love, care, and the joy of childhood.

The Exhibition Warmness is a project initiated by Kamilla Kristensen Rai, counsellor on water and environment of the Royal Danish Embassy in Ukraine. The symbol of the initiative has become soft knitted teddy bears, carrying not only the warmth of yarn but also hope, human connection and the warmth of human hearts. Kamilla launched this idea in Denmark as Bamser med håb for Ukraine (teddy bears bringing hope), where volunteers joined in knitting the teddy bears, and now all the teddy bears have reached Ukraine and are joined by teddy bears knitted by volunteers in Ukraine.

During the presentation of the Exhibition Warmness, Kamilla will introduce the project, thank all volunteers, speak about different types of wool, their origins and properties, and present samples of yarn for guests to explore. Visitors will also have the opportunity to see the teddy bears, posters featuring Kamilla’s original drawing and knitted images reflecting sadness and warmness, and postcards with photographs of the bears. Postcards will be available for donations, with all proceeds directed to support the Sumy Centre of Social and Psychological Rehabilitation for Children.

After the presentation, Kamilla will personally hand over, together with GDIP, the knitted teddy bears to the children at the Sumy Centre for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation.
