Dear Colleagues!
We invite you to take part in the roundtable titled Where the Ukrainian Heart Beats: Ukrainian Communities in African Countries. The event continues the 2025 series devoted to Ukraine’s engagement with the global Ukrainian community and to the role of Ukrainians abroad in preserving national identity, shaping a positive image of Ukraine, and supporting the state during the full-scale war. The first roundtable outlined the key trends, challenges, and potential of Ukrainian communities in a global context, whilst the second deepened the discussion by focusing on Ukrainian centres in Latin American countries, their contribution to supporting Ukraine, and the development of recommendations for further cooperation between the diaspora, Ukrainian institutions, and local partners. The purpose of the upcoming roundtable is to examine formats and prospects for Ukrainian presence in Africa.
We invite all interested parties to join the discussion and listen to presentations by representatives of Ukraine’s diplomatic corps and Ukrainian communities in African countries, who will share practical experience, current challenges, and solutions they have developed. The event will provide an opportunity to gain valuable insights and perspectives, establish direct contacts with diplomats, community leaders, and experts, exchange ideas, and initiate new formats of cooperation.
The roundtable may serve as a platform for building effective partnerships, identifying common ground among state institutions, Ukrainian communities abroad, and civil society, as well as for developing practical steps.
