Dear colleagues!

The Foreign Policy Research Institute, with support of the Directorate-General for Rendering Services to Diplomatic Missions, invites you to take part in the roundtable discussion for foreign diplomatic missions, leading Ukrainian media, and professional community entitled EU Enlargement Package and Ukraine’s Progress, which will take place on 15 November 2024 from 11:00 to 13:10 at the GDIP Media Center at 6-A Pyrohova St. The roundtable will be held in a hybrid online and offline mode.

Moderator of the event: Hryhorii Perepelytsia, Foreign Policy Research Institute Director, Professor at the Department of International Relations and Foreign Policy of the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Doctor of Political Science.

The event will involve the following experts:

• Viacheslav  MEDVEDIEV, Deputy Director-General of the Government Office for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration (TBC);
• Ivan NAHORNIAK, Adviser at the Economic Recovery Centre, CIVITTA partner, expert on European integration, PhD in Political Science;
• Piotr ŁUKASIEWICZ, Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine (TBC); 
• Mykhailo PASHKOV, Co-Director of Foreign Policy and International Security Programmes at the Razumkov Centre;
• Liubov AKULENKO, Executive Director of the Ukrainian Centre for European Policy; 
• Jaroslaw TIMOFIEJUK, Representative of the EU Delegation in Ukraine (TBC).

The event will cover the following key issues: 

1. General assessment of the negotiation process between Ukraine and the EU throughout 2024.
2. The negotiation delegation and challenges in its organisational support.
3. The cluster of fundamental issues and the prospects for opening negotiations during the presidency of the Republic of Poland in the EU in 2025.
4. Assessment of Ukraine’s progress in other negotiation clusters.
5. The EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy as the most promising direction for Ukraine’s European integration.

Event language: Ukrainian with simultaneous interpretation into English.
