The Institute of World Policy, together with the non-governmental organisations Ukrainian Center of Peacebuilding and Institute of Democratization and Development, with organisational support from the State Enterprise ‘Directorate-General for Rendering Services to Diplomatic Missions’ (GDIP), invites you to attend a roundtable for foreign diplomatic missions, experts, and leading domestic and international media entitled Ukraine and Moldova: Prospects for a European Future. The event will take place on Wednesday, 1 October 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Media Center Directorate of the GDIP located at 6-А Pyrohova St, Kyiv.
During the round table, the participants will discuss:
- Results of the Parliamentary Elections in the Republic of Moldova and Their Significance for Ukraine;
- Security Challenges in the Black Sea Basin;
- Developing a Roadmap for Relations between Moldova and Ukraine.
The event will bring together participants in both offline and online formats, including:
- Yevhen MAHDA, moderator, director of the Institute of World Policy;
- Valeriu CHIVERI, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Moldova to Ukraine;
- Vadym HALAICHUK, member of Parliament of Ukraine, first deputy chair of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into the European Union;
- Marianna PRYSIAZHNIUK, political analyst at the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation;
- Mihai ISAC, editor-in-chief of the Karadeniz press, journalist of the TVR Moldova;
- Roman RUSSU, Head of the Association of Ukrainian Youth of the Republic of Moldova Zlahoda;
- Nazar MUKHACHOV, journalist and Editor-in-Chief of the US-based Ukrainian-language Surma newspaper;
- Vitalii KULYK, Head of the Educational and Research Laboratory for Countering Disinformation, Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University;
- Yaroslav KICHUK, Rector of Izmail State University of Humanities;
- Borys BABIN, Expert of the Association for the Reintegration of Crimea;
- Serhii HERASYMCHUK, Deputy Executive Director and Director of the Regional Initiatives Programme and Neighbourhood Programme of the Ukrainian Prism Foreign Policy Council.
During the event, experts will discuss the results of the parliamentary elections in Moldova and russia’s attempts to violate international law in order to interfere in the electoral process and exert a destructive influence on the voters’ will. Participants will also debate the security challenges in the Black Sea region, which, since the military annexation of Crimea, have become a radical russian military threat to the region and to several NATO member states, including Romania and Bulgaria. The discussion will further address Ukraine’s readiness to continue constructive dialogue and to strengthen friendly and partnership relations with Moldova in the context of negotiations on joining the European Union.
