On Friday, 8 November 2024, Pavlo Kryvonos, Director-General of the State Enterprise ‘Directorate-General for Rendering Services to Diplomatic Missions’, visited the Volyn Region for a series of official meetings. The familiarisation visit began with his visit to the Volyn Regional State Administration, accompanied by Vladlena Kotsiuba, General Issues Advisor to the GDIP Director-General.
Pavlo Kryvonos, GDIP Director-General, presented the main activities of the Directorate-General for Rendering Services to Diplomatic Missions to Oleksandr Trokhanenko, Deputy Head of the Volyn Regional State Administration. Mr Trokhanenko outlined the Administration’s priorities, highlighting the President of Ukraine’s mandate to forge new international agreements with potential partner countries, and called on GDIP to support this process. Additionally, Olha Bilitiuk, Deputy Director of the Department of Economic Development, External Relations, Tourism, and Resorts, and Tetiana Dudar, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Youth, and Sports and Head of the Cultural Department, joined discussions on prospects for international cooperation and cultural exchange at the meeting.
The next meeting within Volyn familiarisation visit of the GDIP Director-General took place with the Regional Council leadership. Hryhorii Nedopad, Head of the Regional Council, together with his deputies Yurii Polishchuk and Hryhorii Pustovit, Council Member Volodymyr Bondar, and Deputy Head of the Council Apparatus Yurii Roiko, engaged in talks with GDIP representatives on cooperation and regional development opportunities.
At the beginning of the meeting, Pavlo Kryvonos provided an overview of GDIP’s history, functions, and critical areas of activity. Hryhorii Nedopad shared updates on successful international partnership projects, particularly with Polish and Czech partners. He expressed the council’s readiness to welcome delegations from foreign countries and international organisations to Volyn with GDIP’s assistance. The meeting also explored support for diplomatic and consular missions in the region and the implementation of joint international projects.
To conclude his visit, Pavlo Kryvonos met with Serhii Martyniak, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania in Lutsk, at the Lithuanian Honorary Consulate.
This visit of the GDIP Director-General marked an important step in strengthening partnership relations and international cooperation for the Volyn region, expanding diplomatic and cultural support opportunities. During the meetings, Pavlo Kryvonos extended an invitation to attend the second Charity Fair 2024 on Saturday, 30 November, which unites diplomatic communities in support of charitable initiatives.
During the visit, the sides exchanged unique and valuable gifts. For his part, the GDIP Director-General presented the leadership of the Volyn Regional State Administration, the Regional Council, and the Honorary Consul of Lithuania in Lutsk with an anniversary issue of the Diplomatic Ukraine scientific yearbook, copies of the Diplomacy Without Borders magazine, a GDIP calendar, and other printed materials.
