Conclusion of the Training Communication Strategy of Public Authorities 2.0

From 28 April until 28 May 2025, the Media Center Directorate was implementing the Communication Strategy of Public Authorities 2.0 training course.

The GDIP team implemented the project with the support of the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and the West Ukrainian National University.

The training course aimed to develop the level of professional competencies of civil servants in the sphere of communication and organise knowledge and skills of interactions with the Ukrainian public and international partners. 

On Wednesday, 21 May, the course featured a lecture by Alina Tornahi, Head of the Marketing and Communications Department at the Ministry of Digital Transformation. The expert shared statistical data about the use of social media as important platforms for digital communications with target audiences and gave practical advice regarding communicating messages in an interesting and accessible way using modern visual trends. 

Moreover, during separate lectures, the participants worked with practical cases of crisis communications together with Larysa Shustenko, the Head of Communications Projects and Programmes at Oschadbank in the B2B segment. They also learned more about the work of the European Union from representatives of the EU Delegation to Ukraine: Nicolò Gasparini, Head of the Press and Information Section, and Victoria Davydova, Press and Information Officer.

The project included 11 lectures involving professional specialists who spoke to the participants about the basics of public communications, ethical approaches to the government’s interaction with the public, strategic and crisis communications, intercultural relations, and digital communications. The course was attended by over 100 participants from Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Chernivtsi, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Kropyvnytskyi, Kyiv, Lutsk, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, and Zhytomyr. 

All lectures were held in a hybrid mode, combining offline participation at the GDIP Media Center (6A Pyrohova St) and online participation through Zoom. Communication with participants within the training took place via WhatsApp.

The participants who finished the course and passed the final assignment received certificates proving successful training completion.
