Walking tour titled Unknown Podil

We warmly invite you to join this insightful tour to uncover the secrets of one of Kyiv’s most picturesque districts. Your journey will begin with a visit to the splendid St Andrew’s Church, a masterpiece of 18th-century Baroque architecture. The perfection of its lines, harmonious proportions, and the marvellous blend of architectural form with the surrounding landscape have earned it universal recognition and fame. St Andrew’s Church has long been one of the city’s landmarks and a model to follow in the construction of religious buildings. It has preserved not only its authentic architectural forms and most of its exterior decoration, but also its interior, which remains an unsurpassed example of Orthodox Baroque church interior design to this day.

You will then stroll along the most vibrant and mystical street of Podil — Andriivskyi Descent, where the ambience created by historic buildings and monuments is enhanced by unusual, cosy courtyards and modern creative spaces. You will be enchanted by the grandeur of Richard the Lionheart’s Castle, nice Borychiv Tik and Pokrovska Streets, home to charming architectural landmarks of bygone eras, such as the functioning Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin and Samson Strelbytskyi’s House, a fine example of late Classicism. The tour will conclude at the heart of Podil — Kontraktova Square.

So, if you wish to sense the amazing energy of one of Kyiv’s oldest districts and enjoy a wealth of positive emotions, feel free to join us!
