From War to Peace: Key Issues to Address — a Diplomatic Briefing

On Tuesday, 3 December 2024, the GDIP Media Center hosted a closed diplomatic briefing for foreign diplomatic missions and international organisations on the topic From War to Peace: Key Issues to Address. The United Ukraine think tank implemented the event with organisational support from the State Enterprise ‘Directorate-General for Rendering Services to Diplomatic Missions’.

During the diplomatic briefing, its participants discussed several important issues: international experience in transitioning from martial law, legal aspects; demobilisation; restoration of powers to the local state administrations; conditions for holding elections after a prolonged war; mass media, the Telemarathon, and sanctions against pro-russian media; removal of restrictions on crossing the border.

Ihor Popov, an expert at the United Ukraine think tank, moderated the event. Specialised reports were delivered by the think tank’s team: expert Anastasiia Stepanenko; political analyst and PhD in Philosophy Valentyn Hladkykh; international relations specialist Dmytro Levus; international relations specialist and political scientist Anton Kuchukhidze; and political scientist and Doctor of Political Science Petro Oleshchuk.
