When the anticipation of Christmas awakens in the heart, even a small brushstroke can work wonders.

On Saturday, 6 December 2025, the team of the Media Center Directorate organised a pre-holiday workshop titled Painting a Christmas Ornament: The Art of Creating Wonders, which took place in a stylish art studio in the very heart of Kyiv, overlooking the magnificent Saint Sophia Cathedral. The artistic event brought together staff members of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine.

Each participant received a full set of materials for creativity: festive Christmas tree baubles, a palette of vibrant acrylic paints, various brushes, glitter, and other decorative elements. Under the attentive guidance of an experienced craftswoman, the participants immersed themselves in the process of painting, gradually mastering the techniques of applying paint and creating patterns. The artist explained in detail the specifics of working with acrylics, demonstrated how to combine colours harmoniously, build original compositions, and give the artwork depth and movement. Thanks to this, everyone was able to bring their own idea to life — from traditional winter motifs to imaginative designs reflecting personal mood. The hand-painted baubles will become both a bright addition to the festive interior and a warm memory that will bring back the feeling of comfort and pre-holiday anticipation.

Taking part in this creative workshop became the first step towards the holiday season, filling its participants with a sense of magic, colour, and Christmas inspiration.
