Weekend art event: diplomats attended the ‘Painting and Wine’ workshop

Painting is an art form that enables people not only to create but also to relax and unwind. On Saturday, 23 May 2026, staff from the Media Center Directorate of the Directorate-General for Rendering Services to Diplomatic Missions (GDIP) hosted the ‘Painting and Wine’ workshop for diplomats. Staff from the Embassy of Canada to Ukraine, the European Union Advisory Mission Ukraine, and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) joined the event.

Today, many view painting not merely as an art form but also as an effective way to relieve psychological stress and restore emotional balance.

The Isaeva Gallery studio of intuitive creativity hosted the event. Under the guidance of an experienced artist, the diplomats tried their hand at painting, mastered new techniques, and learned the basics of colour theory, including the principles of creating shades and mixing paints. The artist helped each participant choose a harmonious palette and bring their own creative vision to life in their artwork.

Participants could choose any painting for inspiration or create their own original work of art. Light refreshments and a glass of rosé complemented the relaxed, warm atmosphere of the creative process.

After the workshop concluded, the foreign guests added their newly painted canvases to their private collections. For the diplomats, this weekend art event provided an excellent opportunity to unleash their creative potential, slow down, disconnect from daily stress, and recharge.
