All true admirers of ancient history are welcome to join the event. We invite you to travel thousands of years back in history to immerse yourself in the glorious olden times. An experienced guide will tell you about the main gate of ancient Kyiv, the 11th-century Kyivan Rus defence architecture monument — the Golden Gate, without which it is impossible to imagine the modern capital. You will also visit one of the most hallowed Christian sanctuaries in Eastern Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site — the National Conservation Area ‘St Sophia of Kyiv’. Its main temple preserves the most extensive ensemble of original 11th-century mosaics and frescoes — outstanding pieces of East Slavic art. The unique beauty of St Sophia has bestowed upon it the fame of a true wonder of the world. The splendid architecture of the temple, unique mosaics sparkling with 177 colours and shades, frescoes-masterpieces of wall painting put St Sophia Cathedral on a par with the greatest monuments of human civilisation. The tour will end on Starokyivska Hill.
