On Friday, 7 February 2025, the staff of the Media Center Directorate conducted a fascinating exclusive tour of Vault No. 1 of the State Treasury of Ukraine for employees of foreign missions. The tour was joined by the Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria (Arad Benkö), Mexico (Audencio Contreras Gonzalez), Slovakia (Pavel Vízdal), spouses of the Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy (Monica Bartoli) and Romania (Cristina Micula), employees of the embassies of Bulgaria, Canada, Czechia, and international missions, namely the EU and the UN.
At the beginning of the tour, the diplomats read the information on the displays about renaming the kopiika — Ukrainian change coin — to the shah and learned that historical justice would soon be restored, traditions resumed, and Russian influence finally eradicated from the Ukrainian monetary system.
Next, the foreign guests viewed the fascinating exhibits of the Vault, which features numismatic coins, including ones of foreign countries, rare works of jewellery and adornment, weapons, unique items of decorative and applied art, a wide variety of precious and semi-precious stones, including colourful topazes of Ukrainian origin, as well as gold bullion bars, which comprise the gold and foreign exchange reserve of Ukraine. The Vault’s collection allowed the staff of foreign missions to learn about the monetary circulation in Ukraine from the 9th century to the present day.
Visiting one of the most luxurious administrative buildings in the capital and viewing a collection of authentic masterpieces of jewellery art from different eras gave each participant an unforgettable aesthetic experience.
