On Tuesday, 3 June 2025, a closed expert discussion entitled Conditions for Peace Settlement: Ukraine’s Red Lines took place in the premises of the Media Center Directorate.

The event was organised by the United Ukraine think tank with the support of the Directorate-General for Rendering Services to Diplomatic Missions. Among the speakers who presented their assessment of the current state and prospects of the peace process in Ukraine were Ihor Popov, political and security expert at the United Ukraine think tank; Anton Kuchukhidze, co-founder of the United Ukraine think tank, political scientist specialising in international relations; and Valentyn Gladkykh, political analyst, PhD in philosophy.

During the closed discussion participants addressed the following issues: the necessity of achieving a comprehensive and unconditional ceasefire as a prerequisite for negotiations; platforms, intermediaries, and formats for negotiations; the importance of not recognising illegal annexations; the inadmissibility of limiting the size of Ukraine’s Defence Forces or halting arms supplies; expectations from the NATO Summit in The Hague; when and how Ukraine can lift martial law; prospects for holding elections.

Following the experts’ presentations, a discussion took place with the participation of specialists in international relations.
