From Carpathian Peaks to Global Recognition: Presentation of Ukrainian Ambassador Wines by the Ukrvynprom Corporation

On Friday, 19 June 2026, a presentation of Ukrainian ambassador wines took place in the village of Lazeshchyna, Zakarpattia region.

The event, which brought together friends, like-minded individuals, and partners, was organised by the Ukrvynprom corporation with the support of the State Enterprise ‘Directorate-General for Rendering Services to Diplomatic Missions’, Grande Vallee Ukrainian wine brand, the Shabo and Chateau Chizay winemaking companies, and the Ukraina printing plant.

As part of the event, guests conquered one of the highest Carpathian peaks — Mount Petros — ascending to an elevation of 2,020 meters.

‘Amidst the wind, clouds, and the majesty of the Carpathians, we have once again proven that Ukrainian wines confidently rank among the best today, winning international awards, opening new markets, and shaping the modern image of Ukraine as a winemaking nation. Every bottle raised to the peak of Petros today represents the history of Ukrainian winemakers’ hard work, faith in their craft, and love for their native land,’ emphasised Volodymyr Kucherenko, General Director of the Ukrvynprom corporation.

Following the presentation of the Ukrainian ambassador wines, event participants joined a tasting of wines that proudly represent Ukraine on the international stage today. During the ascent and at the summit of Petros, the winemakers detailed the specific production features of each wine and the uniqueness of Ukrainian winemaking regions. This format allowed guests not only to enjoy the tastes of Ukrainian wines but also to deepen their knowledge of modern Ukrainian winemaking and its achievements.

A special atmosphere was created by the majestic Carpathian landscapes, amidst which participants took photos with glasses of Ukrainian wine, symbolically combining the natural beauty of Ukraine with its winemaking traditions. The ascent was attended by winemakers, partners, and industry friends, who, together, once again drew attention to the development and popularisation of Ukrainian wine.

After descending the mountain, the guests visited a local cheese-making farm, where they could learn about the traditions of Carpathian cheese-making and purchase products from local producers.

A separate part of the programme featured a meeting with Khrystyna Hospodarska, a renowned Ukrainian sommelier, wine expert, physician, and founder of a wine club in Ternopil. She shared her vision of a culture of responsible wine consumption with the participants, discussing the role of wine as a traditional fermented product and its place in European gastronomic culture.

It is precisely such gatherings that foster the strengthening of professional ties, the birth of new ideas, and the further development of Ukrainian winemaking.
