On Saturday, 24 May 2025, employees of the Media Center Directorate conducted a tour for representatives of the foreign diplomatic corps to the Klovskyi Palace, an 18th-century architectural monument of national importance. The visit was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Finland, Tarja Fernández, Chargé d’Affaires of Australia, Tim Millikan, UNHCR Representative in Ukraine, Karolina Lindholm Billing, and employees of the embassies of Canada and Kyrgyzstan, as well as representatives of the EU and UN missions.
During the tour, foreign guests got to know the architecture and history of this fancy 3,200-square-metre building, constructed in the Ukrainian Baroque style. Klovskyi Palace is one of the most beautiful buildings in Kyiv from past centuries. Throughout its history, it has served various functions: it housed the printing house of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, a military hospital, the first boys’ gymnasium, a girls’ theological school, and later, museums.
Since 2009, the Supreme Court has been operating in this building. The diplomats climbed the palace’s grand staircase, visited the courtrooms and plenary halls, the conference room, and viewed the Supreme Court museum exhibition, which features historical documents and materials, robes and insignia of judges from different eras, and commemorative gifts representing the Supreme Court’s relations with the relevant authorities of foreign states.
At the end of the tour, participants took photos to commemorate their interesting visit to Klovskyi Palace, which has been a gem of Kyiv’s Lipky district for over two centuries, offering visitors unique experiences and emotions.
