Secrets of pottery: diplomats took part in a workshop on clay modelling

On Saturday, 24 May 2025, employees of the Media Center organised the first creative clay modelling workshop, which was attended by representatives of the Mexican Embassy, Rocío Carolina Valdez Galaviz and her husband, and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), Marysia Zapasnik.

The event took place in a cosy space in the centre of the capital, where participants were able to take a break from their daily routine and work with clay, a common natural material that our ancestors used since ancient times to skilfully craft everyday objects.

During the event, guests learned about modelling techniques and boldly experimented with shapes and textures. With the help of an experienced ceramist, the diplomats not only created their own pieces but also decorated them with different colours and prepared them for firing and glazing. All participants felt like real artists and created unique pieces — an original candlestick and a plate. The diplomats were filled with positive emotions, as they immersed themselves in the world of traditional Ukrainian crafts and discovered new facets of their creative nature.
