Meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to Ukraine

On 9 October 2024, a delegation from the State Enterprise ‘Directorate-General for Rendering Services to Diplomatic Missions’ led by Pavlo Kryvonos, Director-General, met with Ms Tarja Fernández, newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to Ukraine.

The SE GDIP and the Embassy of Finland have cooperated for over twenty years. This visit marked the completion of major renovation work on the diplomatic mission’s premises. The renovations received special attention because ensuring the diplomats’ comfort and security during their work was crucial.

During the meeting, Mr Kryvonos also shared details of upcoming GDIP events, including the presentation of the anniversary issue of the Diplomatic Ukraine scientific yearbook and the Evening of Argentine Tango concert, inviting representatives of the Finnish Embassy to participate. Ms Fernández received official GDIP publications — such as a business planner and the Century of Ukrainian Music calendar.

The Ambassador and the Embassy staff expressed their gratitude to the Directorate-General for the renovations and the work that GDIP continues to carry out despite the state of war in Ukraine.

In conclusion, both parties expressed hope for future meetings and continued fruitful cooperation in the interests of Ukraine and Finland.
