On Friday, 17 January 2025, the Embassy of the Republic of Albania opened in Kyiv at 12 Ivana Fedorova Street. This marks the first diplomatic mission to open in Ukraine since the full-scale war began, underscoring the mutual commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations and supporting each other on the international stage.
‘Today, in Kyiv, together with my colleague Igli Hasani, we officially opened the Embassy of the Republic of Albania. This is the first embassy to open in Ukraine since the full-scale russian invasion. It stands as a symbol of Ukrainian-Albanian resilience, unity, and our shared future in the EU and NATO’, stated Andrii Sybiha, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
Albania has repeatedly expressed its support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. During his visit to Kyiv, Igli Hasani, Albania’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, emphasised the importance of international solidarity in the face of russian aggression. Albania firmly stands by Ukraine in its struggle for independence and security.
Following the recent unprecedented attack by the russian federation on the capital, which damaged the office spaces of foreign embassies on Ivana Fedorova Street, the State Enterprise ‘Directorate-General for Rendering Services to Diplomatic Missions’ promptly carried out all necessary repair and restoration work. As a result, the embassies have resumed their normal operations.
The opening of this new diplomatic mission during the russian-Ukrainian war is an undeniable demonstration of trust and support for Ukraine from foreign nations.
